Research: Leading Analyst Firm Advises Against Regional Cloud Providers  

In an era of uncertainty, Trust is the differentiator. As global organizations evaluate their cloud strategies in light of the ever changing geo-political landscape, “geopatriation” has emerged as a possible consideration. Geopatriation involves moving or relocating workloads and applications from global cloud hyperscalers to regional or national alternatives. One research firm advises against local providers. 

Gartner says, “they often lack the breadth of features and capabilities of the leading hyperscale cloud providers, including the robust application stack necessary to run cloud-native applications. Such providers often show poor execution and lack of comprehensive understanding of the enterprise market. Additionally, the risk profiles and security postures of these local cloud providers can vary significantly. As a result, large public or private organizations face difficulties in planning a complete exit from global vendors in the near term.”
